Seoul 2

Hier noch ein paar Eindrücke von dieser Riesenstadt: 28 Millionen Einwohner, pulsierend, riesig gross, nur das eigentliche Stadtzentrum 605 km2, mehr als doppelt so gross wie der Kanton Genf und darin 17100 Einwohner/km2 – Basel Stadt hat 5000. Um vom Hotel im Businessviertel südlich des Han-Flusses ins eigentliche Zentrum zu kommen, braucht man mit der Metro ungefähr eine Stunde, mit dem Taxi 50 Minuten.

Gegensätze auf kleinstem Raum sind typisch. Hier ein paar Bilder, auch vom IUFRO-Weltkongress.

Hier doch noch einige Angaben zum Kongress: Teilgenommen haben 2675 Vertreter aus 92 Ländern, davon allerdings 878 aus Korea, 272 aus Japan, 214 aus China, 164 aus den USA und 99 aus Indonesien. Es gab 170 Sessions, 916 Vorträge wurden gehalten; es brauchte 96 Busse für die In-Congress-Tour und es hat Montag bis Freitag in Seoul 183,5 mm geregnet (Quelle: The Congress Daily, Saturday August 28, 2010).
